Description:
A living watercolour, the Anacampseros ‘Variegata’ captivates with its tight rosettes of plump, triangular leaves. Its foliage displays a stunning gradient of rose-pink, lime green, and emerald, with the most vibrant colours appearing at the leaf tips. Fine, white filaments grow between the leaves, giving it a soft, textured look. A slow-growing succulent, it forms a low, spreading clump perfect for containers, where it will eventually trail over the edges. In summer, it produces showy pink flowers that open during the afternoon, adding to its charm.
Care:
☀️ Light: Thrives in full sun to partial shade. Bright light intensifies the leaf colours.
💧 Water: Drought-tolerant but prone to rot. Use the “soak and dry” method, watering only when the soil is completely dry.
🌱 Soil: Requires a gritty, very well-draining succulent mix to prevent waterlogging.
🌡️ Temp: Not frost-hardy. Protect from temperatures below -1°C (30°F).
Pet Friendly: ⚠️ Generally safe – Considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, but the sap may cause mild irritation. It’s best to keep it out of reach of curious pets.
Local Growing Tip: Native to South Africa, it is well-suited to sunny, dry conditions but benefits from light afternoon shade in intensely hot regions
