Common Name(s): Variegated Rogersii, Silk Crassula, Crassula Rogersii ‘Silk’

Origin: Native to the Eastern Cape of South Africa; this variegated cultivar was created in cultivation.

Description:
Crassula rogersii variegated is a charming succulent shrublet prized for its diminutive, club-shaped leaves adorned with striking creamy-white variegation. The fleshy leaves are covered in soft, short white hairs that give them a velvety, felt-like texture, catching the light beautifully. When exposed to more heat and bright light, the leaf tips blush with shades of pink to deep red, adding warmth to its silvery-green palette. This slow-growing variety forms erect to decumbent branches, reaching up to 30 cm tall, making it an ideal choice for mixed containers, rock gardens, or a prized spot in any succulent collection. In summer, it produces small clusters of pale yellow, tubular flowers on slender stalks up to 20 cm long. Each plant is unique due to the variable distribution of chlorophyll, ensuring no two specimens are exactly alike.

Care:
☀️ Light: Prefers bright, indirect light to partial shade. Avoid direct sun which can scorch the leaves; 40%-60% shade cloth is ideal for outdoor growing.
💧 Water: Water well during warmer months, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings. Reduce watering significantly in winter to prevent root rot.
🌱 Soil: Requires a well-draining soil mixture that retains some moisture. A gritty succulent mix with coco peat or our EcoGrit Mix is recommended.
🌡️ Temp: Ideal temperature ranges between 15 – 25°C. Can tolerate 5 – 40°C but is highly sensitive to frost.
🌸 Flowering: Produces pale yellow, tubular flowers in small clusters during summer.

Pet Friendly: ✅ Non-toxic – Generally considered safe for cats and dogs, though ingestion may cause mild gastrointestinal irritation.

Propagation: Easily propagated from stem cuttings taken in early spring. Allow cuttings to air dry for two weeks before planting in well-draining soil.
