Common Name(s): Variegated Markus, Sedeveria Markus Variegata
Origin: A cultivated hybrid, created by crossing Sedum and Echeveria species.
Description:
Sedeveria ‘Markus’ variegated is a stunning hybrid prized for its compact rosettes of fleshy, lance-shaped leaves. Each leaf displays a beautiful blend of silvery light green with creamy-yellow variegation along the edges, creating a soft, pastel effect. When happily stressed by bright sunlight, the leaf tips blush with delicate pink or orange-pink tones, adding warmth to its cool palette. This slow-growing succulent forms dense clusters over time, making it a charming addition to fairy gardens, mixed containers, or a prized spot in any collector’s display. In late spring or early summer, it produces delicate clusters of small, star-shaped yellow flowers.
Care:
☀️ Light: Bright, indirect light to partial sun. Morning sun enhances pink tones; protect from harsh afternoon rays.
💧 Water: Drought-tolerant – Water thoroughly only when soil is completely dry. Reduce watering in winter.
🌱 Soil: Requires a gritty, well-draining succulent mix.
🌡️ Temp: Hardy to -4°C (25°F) when dry. Protect from prolonged frost.
🌸 Flowering: Produces yellow flowers in late spring to early summer.
Pet Friendly: ✅ Non-toxic – Generally considered safe for cats and dogs, though ingestion may cause mild stomach upset.
