Cotyledon tomentosa, also known as Bear Paws, is a charming succulent with thick, fuzzy leaves that resemble tiny bear claws, complete with small “teeth” at the tips. The leaves are a soft green, covered in fine hairs that give them a velvety texture. This slow-growing plant can reach about 30 cm in height, making it a delightful addition to any collection.
Native to South Africa, Bear Paws prefer bright, indirect light but can tolerate some direct sunlight in cooler hours. Well-draining soil is essential, and it should be watered sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings.
In spring, this plant may surprise you with orange or yellow bell-shaped flowers. With its adorable look and minimal care needs, Bear Paws is a favourite among beginners and experienced gardeners alike.
